Spring is in the air! As we are hitting warmer temps our customers are waking up from a winter hibernation and we see an uptick in mobility installations and maintenance.
Installation #1: Push-Pull Hand Control installation on a 2019 Volvo VNL
Equipment Type: Right Hand Floor Mounted Mechanical Push-Pull Hand Control
Vehicle: 2019 Volvo VNL
Customer Location: Cary, IL
Challenge Solved: Our customer is a professional truck driver who was involved in an accident. Now he needs a mobility adaptation to go back to work.
Installation Details:
- Equipment: Right Hand Floor Mounted Veigel Compact 2, Removable Pedal Guard and Spinner Knob
- Installation time: two days
- Special considerations: Semi trucks are big and the interior layout is much different that regular vehicles. Veigel provides extended length Veigel Compact 2 to accommodate just this! The 22 inch handle fits perfectly and we were able to provide perfect installation with excellent ergonomics for comfort and safety. We also installed a removable pedal guard to prevent accidental foot interference with foot pedals while driving. Afterall the semi truck and trailer carry a lot of weight and our job is to provide the safest installation possible. Safety is our number one priority!
Customer Outcome: Back to work, driving a semi truck and operating it with hands only.
Repair #2: Electrical issues repaired on Commercial Hybrid and Gas Mobility Vans
Equipment Type: Commercial Hybrid and Gas Mobility Vans
Vehicle: Chrysler Pacifica, Toyota Sienna
Customer Location: Chicago, IL
Challenge Solved: Electrical issues
Repair Details: Random lights on the dash affecting drivability and functionality of the mobility conversion. Hybrid related codes. We frequently see commercial operators power washing interiors of their vans. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! Mobility vans are super complicated with a lot of electronics installed inside the floor. Toyota Sienna’s Hybrid models have hybrid batteries installed underneath front seats. Is extremely important to be aware of the high voltage and electronics that are easily damaged when introduced to water.
Customer Outcome: Issue fully resolved after repairing and replacing damaged electrical components

Repair Details:
- New floor pockets underneath sliding doors welded in on both sides
Customer Outcome: As good as new.
